Reprogramming

When people hear the word reprogram it brings about thoughts of someone else taking control of their mind, but in the case of Functional Emotional Fitness™ (FEF™), the exact opposite is true. Observational subjective assessments without measuring emotional and gut health of a client are more in line with someone else running your thought processes.

The only way one can reprogram an emotional state that does not work is if one understands the mechanism of thought. Thought precedes emotion and behavior, so if one understands this process, you are at the very beginning of emotion and behavior.

When breaking down the mechanism of thought, both brains must be considered. The 500 million neurons in your gut have led some to call it your second brain. The profound effect your gut-brain has on the one in your head has led others to refer to it as your first brain. Whatever your reference both must be part of the reprogramming equation.

Become a Functional Emotional Fitness™ Practitioner

The only way you can determine if something works is if you measure it and this is why Burris Institute begins with a Functional Emotional Fitness™ Checklist. This checklist not only addresses depression, anxiety, and stress it addresses 14 other issues that can wreak havoc on any human being. Every session begins with this checklist, so the FEF™ Practitioner and client know exactly where to start and progress can be tracked online with our system of color coding improvement, regression or no change.

FEF™ is the Mechanism for Reprogramming 17 Issues

  1. Depression
  2. Anxiety
  3. Negative Self Talk
  4. Anger
  5. Sleep
  6. Hopelessness
  7. Self-Esteem
  8. Eating Behavior
  9. Decision Making
  10. Hatred (Self-Others)
  11. Suicidal Ideation
  12. Love (The Emotional State)
  13. Self-Confidence
  14. Motivation and Focus
  15. Communication
  16. Relationship Satisfaction
  17. Stress

In Step 6 of the FEF™ process is our Food and Fitness Planner. Before you begin this planner however is our Gut Health Checklist which will reveal DBS/IBS, parasites and other inflammatory gut issues which may affect the numbers on the FEF™ checklist.

The bottom line is if the objective is to consistently take control of how you feel you must know how it (mind-gut) works and measure it to know if you are improving. Observational subjective assessments have their place but empowering the client to take consistent control of how they feel is not one of them.
